Remembering our Heroes 9/11/15!

Remembering our Heroes... Never to Forget

September 11, 2001 our nation was attacked...Attacked on American soil.  For many in our nation this would be the first time we had experienced this type of war.  Not since the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941 had our country experienced this type of tragedy.  Most of us, as a country, were not prepared to see this on our land.  We were not prepared to feel the feelings we felt, to see the images on television, as we watched our beloved icons of this great nation fall and burn.  In the days after the attacks we heard of stories of tragedy, wrought with tears, pain, and despair. We also heard stories of triumph, survival and heroism. We watched for days as the men and women of the United States Military, the local Fire Departments, Police Departments and Emergency Crews sifted through the wreckage of twisted metal, fire and debris saving the lives of others while risking their own.  During this time America was faced with a challenge... A challenge to rise up united and work together.  In 2001 we, the people of the United States of America, rose to the challenge.  From Ground zero to the California Coast, we rallied in prayer, supplies, time, donations and even sending our local teams to ground zero to give aid to the weary workers at the scene.

It has been 14 years since the attack.  We have rebuilt, restored and proven the American Spirit of strength and resilience stands strong. And although its important to move forward in life, it is also important to never forget.  Never forget the feelings we had, the images we saw, and the lives that were tragically lost.  Today, on Patriot Day, we remember that while we work, play and sleep, day in and day out, there are men and women waiting... Men and women that wait for these moments of emergency; to respond to our aid at a moments notice, to risk their life to save ours.  These men and women make the choice to put our country and community first.

We sincerely want to thank all of the men and women that make that choice every day.  Today our Melson team delivered goodies and hugs to our local emergency teams. Although it pales in comparison to the sacrifices they make, we want you, all that serve to know we are so grateful.  You are in our prayers daily and we are truly blessed.

God Bless our Emergency and Military Personnel &
God Bless the United States of America
