California Drought Gaining National & International Attention

If you live in Porterville or the surrounding areas you already know that we are in a major water crisis. You know that 300+ families (not people but whole families) have been with out water for months. However, much of California and the country has had no idea; until now...

Recently the Central Valley has made national and international headlines - our voices are being heard, our faces are being seen. Over the last few weeks the Huffington Post, L.A. Times, Washington Post, even the BBC (not to mention the grass roots social media) have been sharing our stories.

We know that just publishing these articles does not solve the problem, but it will bring attention to the crisis and hopefully more resources to help our community. If you would like to help please contact Elva Beltran at the Porterville Area Coordinating Council at (559)793-0213

With the much needed attention our drought is getting, there has been a lot of talk about the drought history of California. One "baby boomer" mentioned a saying she heard as a child that we thought you might enjoy...
